Castro de Torroso
Castro de Torroso submitted by Firewhorl : Castro de Torroso (Road Sign). Though clearly signed from the road the site has not been maintained, probably since the excavations finished, and the paths quickly disappear into the undergrowth. It is virtually impossible to locate the site except for the small wall which is just about visible and would not appear to be anything in a photograph! (Vote or comment on this photo)

Castro Torroso is an archeological site in the parish of San Mamede of Torroso in the municipality of Mos, near Vigo, Galicia.

Discovered in 1983 and excavated between the years 1984 to 1990, it is believed to be from the 7th Century BCE and is estimated to have had a very short period of occupation. The main finding was a stone wall with some trenches. Of special interest was the appearance of a solid mud flat and circular and other shaped blocks which could, hypothetically, be part of an adobe wall.
