Originally part of a necropolis of 12 megalithic monuments located in places of "The Pair", "Cell" and "San Cosme" and constituted a continuation of the great necropolis of High Rebullón and of ¨The Xunqueiras¨.
The Dolmen lies in the car park of the private sports complex of the Circle Mercantile Vigo. We were able to access to it with permission of the security guard at the gate.
The Dolmen was moved from its original location during construction of the sports complex, however several others did not receive the same treatment and were completely destroyed! The remains of these can be seen as stones scattered around the grounds.
The security guard informed us that thankfully recent laws now protect these sites and gave us an example: In an adjoining Finca (small plots of private land) the owners recently wanted to build a house and began digging the foundations. In doing so they discovered another Dolmen and were immediately forbidden to build on the site.
He further informed us that there were many other Dolmens in the area but all were on private land and are inaccessible.
