markj99 visited on 11th Sep 2022 - their rating: Cond: 2 Amb: 3 Access: 3 I found Casehill Cairn by following the wall from Casehill Farm. The most impressive feature of the monument is the kerb stone on the NE Arc, measuring c. 3 feet high by 15 feet wide.

From the Cornwall HER: 'A kerbed cairn situated on high ground on the edge of unenclosed moorland.'
'According to the RCHM it is a mutilated turf covered kerbed cairn which measures 19m in diameter (not 12m as recorded by the OS) and about 0.6m high (not 0.9m as recorded by the OS). The kerb, which is partly visible, is approximately 15.3m in diameter and includes a number of large upright slabs (the biggest being 2.3m long and 0.85m high) (h4). The top of the mound has been extensively disturbed and the north side has been cut in two by a 1.5m high field dyke (h4). The OS fieldworker (h2) recorded that the kerb consisted of three inward leaning slabs exposed on the inner north east and south west margins of the cairn, and also noted that the portion of cairn north of the modern field wall is vestigal'.
Surprisingly large kerb slabs, reminiscent of Alex Tor Cairn nearby.
