Ridley Common

Ridley Common submitted by TheWhiteRider on 2nd Jul 2006. Ridley Common Stone Circle. Only visible from the other side of a boundary fence. A number of keep out/private property signs made it abundantly clear that taking the easier route up a road to look at the circle was not allowed. Instead I had to scramble through difficult boggy ground along the field boundary until I spotted the circle.

Standing Stone of Bagbie

Standing Stone of Bagbie submitted by vicky on 29th Oct 2002. This single standing stone sits in a field at NX498562 but to the south of, and part of, a complex containing a cairn, four poster stone circle and stone pair. The Standing Stone of Bagbie is blade-like (as many of the standing stones in this area are) and has no formal access although it can be seen from the lane that runs from the A75(T) in a NE direction in to the hills towards Cambret. This area is right on the edge of OS Explorer Map 311 (Wigtown, Whithorn & The Machars) and full navi...

Morfa Bychan submitted by sem on 21st Aug 2006. Only the uprights remain from this chamber, but there are many candidates for the capstone lying nearby. This site is very reminiscent of King's Quoit in nearby Manorbier with a line of stones, in this case natural, behind the chamber.
