Ballochroy submitted by howe on 9th Jun 2009. The three stone row viewed in a traditionally reported solistial alignment with the paps of Jura.
In fact, antiquarial descriptions of the site show that the row was linearly aligned with three cairns and a further standing stone directed toward a hill on the mainland. Onlt one cist of the cairns is now visible.

A panoramic view of the Cockpit Stone Circle which according to Magicmap ‘includes a circular kerbed stone bank 2.8m -11.2m wide and up to 0.5m high which encloses an area approximately 27m in diameter. There are 27 (?) standing and recumbent stones set largely into the internal face of this bank, thereby creating the stone circle. Yordas Cave submitted by andy_h on 27th Apr 2004. Previously a Victorian Showcave in which evidence of early human habitation was found. A wonderful place to spend an afternoon exploring with a torch. The highlight being the underground waterfall chamber at the back of the cave.

Glynsaithmaen Field submitted by vicky on 18th Jun 2002. The field at Glynsaithmaen where two stone circles linked by an avenue once stood according to antiquarians. Many large boulders now lie along the edge of the field close to the road.

Spectacular views abound, with panoramic views to the Tal Y Fan mountain to the south, the Great Orme to the east, and Anglesey to the west.

Ormaig submitted by rockartuk on 18th Aug 2001. On the West slope of Creag Mhor (NM 8222 0267) you may find a magnificent series of over 200 carvings, many in 'mint' condition. They were recently (1973) uncovered. This is a detail of two of the three rosettes of different sizes. This realy cheers you up!

The stone, with the location of Esgair Perfedd to the rear - a Roman Marching Camp said to take up to 4,000 soldiers, and believed to be constructed during the last Campaign against the (for us) Welsh. Did the Romans use these ridge top markers to help follow the route into the mountains? I reckon they did. Then I picture 4,000 tired, but battle ready Roman soldiers passing this stone some 1900 years ago. If the stones could speak...
