The rear appears to have a medium size chamber, while the rest appears to be the passage leading to it. It probably once had a tumulus. Saint-Lyphard.

Allée couverte de la Bellée submitted by binardino on 11th May 2006. Located in a private hunting wood, this passage grave is wonderful, especially the death divinity on the right stone of the entrance. Wonderful, you have an entrance hole and a capstone over the entrance the rest of capstones have disapeared. around 10 meters long and 1,5 wide. (i have retaken my caption!)

Bois Couturier Allée couverte

Bois Couturier Allée couverte submitted by greywether on 30th Jun 2005. A truly superb site which deserves to be better known. Restored and still sitting in its mound, the exceptional feature is the complete rebated porthole. Better still, the porthole "stopper" survives and is on display at the local museum. To add to the interest, there is "breast and necklace" art on the two outer portals, although now faint. Fantastic!

Grotte de Pech-Merle submitted by thecaptain on 14th Nov 2008. The entrance area to this fantastic cave, which I would thoroughly encourage anybody to visit. One of the oak trees here (with the white paint) has one of its roots hanging down into the cave, which can be seen looking like a hairy stalactite.

Log Text: Usually these fusion sites do not work for but this one was an exception. The location majesty of the Dolmen and the church in ruins synergies well as a site. Perhaps the presence of teh church wall which substitutes for the berm of the original mound helps the ambiance of the site.
