This shot shows the huge but low (4.5ft - 1.4m) SE-facing doorway of the Carn Euny 'Beehive Hut' underground chamber, with its own short passage leading into the fogou passage which runs SW/NE, (but snaking here with a flatter, more W/E run), just outside the doorway. It is thought that the Beehive Hut (chamber) was the first structure on this site, so that originally the eastern wall of the fogou passage would not have obstructed the view. Venton Ia submitted by KiwiBetsy on 11th Sep 2006. This well is located in St Ives opposite Porthmeor Beach on the corner of Porthmeor Hill and Beach Road.
Venton Ia consists of two recesses each containing a trough of water. A plaque states “Venton Ia,. The holy well of St Ia, until 1843 the main water supply to Downalong”, which was the old name for this area of the town.

Castle An Dinas (Penwith) submitted by h_fenton on 28th Oct 2008. Castle-an-Dinas hillfort from the North-West. The structure on the far side of the hillfort is a folly that was constructed in 1798 and is known as Rogers Tower. Stone from the defences of the hillfort were used in the constuction of this tower.
