Brane Entrance Grave submitted by Hamish on 13th May 2004. SW401282 Nr Sancreed.
After looking at Sancreed Well have a look for this lovely little Chambered Tomb.
Just before the farm the road does a sharp turn right you can park here.Best to ask permission from the farmer because access is not easy.May is a good time to come ,the tomb has a nice blue hat.

When you reach the farm there is no problem parking.Ask the landowner for permission to enter. They are quite happy to give this permission.Be careful of the guardian geesethey have a hard peck. The stone is of the same type as the Stanton Drew stones. The farmers wife told me that they get a lot of dowsers there who find "interesting things"
This stone is well worth the effort finding.

Redland Park submitted by Hamish on 9th May 2004. Redland Park Bristol. ST579749.
This stone lies here unnoticed by passers daily. I for one remember it as a useful resting place on my way home after drinking sessions in my student days, and it never crossed my mind that it was a sarsen stone. There were reputedly at least two stone circles in this area but this is all that remains. There is however a large similar stone at the Canowie Road end of the park but this is iffy.

Clach Mhic Mhios

Site Type: Standing Stone (Menhir)
Country: Scotland (Highlands)
Visited: Yes on 9th Feb 2004

Clach Mhic Mhios submitted by hamish on 9th Feb 2004. This wonderful Stone is about 6 miles up the road inland from Lothbeg. There are stopping places, but choose carefully as it is further across the heather than you think. It can be very boggy in the spring. The stone is about 10ft tall. The silence here is most wonderful, there is absolutely nothing to break it but the occasional buzzard. I was called away by the distant and unmistakable call of a fine malt,so I went off to find it.
