Skyreholme Wall Stone (413)

Trip No.1  Entry No.1  Date Added: 24th Aug 2026
Site Type: Rock Art Country: England (Yorkshire (North))
Visited: Yes on 23rd Aug 2026. My rating: Condition 3 Ambience 4 Access 3

Log Text: This is a beast of a stone, with dozens of cups on its upper surface (and in some places down the sides). I'm surprised it's not better known.

The stone is now built into the wall of what is likely to be an ancient green lane (close to the summit of Black Hill Road), and could perhaps have been a marker of the path. The stones that had previously covered the top of the stone have been removed which gives a better view.

It's a bit of a walk to get to it, whichever way you choose to do so, but it's very easy to find once you're on the path.
