Dromroe submitted by ladrin on 14th May 2015. I think that public access is possible. Leave the car where the small pictograph of the Beara tourist trail is. Follow the path about 10 min. After the third or fourth ledder (anyway when you get to the large open pasture), leave the trail to the left.

Dun Ardtreck submitted by Creative Commons on 13th Apr 2010. This 'semi-broch' is D-shaped with the straight side formed by the edge of the cliff (out of sight in this view at the back). The visible wall is about 6ft tall. The entrance has a raised threshold, door-checks and a guard cell on the right.

Log Text: Don't expect a conventional broch - this one seems to have been much altered. It must have been an important area, there are three other Duns before you reach the southern tip of the peninsula, and there is a large round cairn, a good stone circle, and other sites nearby.

The May 1983 entry in the "Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland" reports that only the middle stone had fallen by then.

Dunmallard submitted by nicoladidsbury on 13th Jan 2006. Dunmallard hillfort sit at the end of Ullswater lake, guarding access to it, and to the mountain passes beyond. The people of this hillfort would effectively have control of the lake and the valley. Moor Divock cairns and Cockpit stone circle lie on the moorside to the south.
