Log Text: Parking is available SX 65092 72766. From here head across the cattle grid and down the road. At SX 64744 72838 turn left and follow the track to SX 63288 71902. Follow the footpath into Joan Ford’s Newtake towards the stones.

Log Text: Car parking is available at SS 84543 44569. From here cross the road and enter the field to the west. Follow the track to SS 83382 43897 and then head to the gateway at SS 82609 44240. Then follow the field wall westward to another gate at SS 82416 44289. Pass through the gateway and head south to Three Combes Foot. From here follow the narrow path up the steep slope to the row.

Beorgs of Housetter submitted by howe on 4th Apr 2012. The much reduced remains of the more southerly cairn also known as the Giant's Stones. Only two uprights of the facade are recognisable.

Log Text: These stones are seen as the remains of a cairn facade. It is possible that this is a stone row with an adjacent cairn. The stone lying in the centre of the cairn may have once stood in the socket to the east.

Trowie Knowe submitted by howe on 4th Apr 2012. The remains of the more northerly cairn by the side of the road to North Roe. The cairn is about 9 metres across and appears to have the remains of a trefoil chamber.

To get there you have to pass the fierce white guard Ram.
- tip - you might be able to outsmart him by sneaking past when he is at the end of his tether.

It is very close to the lighthouse at Echaness, which must have some of the most spectacular sea scenery in the UK.
