Three slabs stand in a row on the slopes to the northwest of the Swincombe waterworks lake.

This is an uncertain site according to Burl, and it is not like any other prehistoric stone row on Dartmoor. I wondered whether it was part of some ancient settlement or industrial works, of which there are many in this area.

Update September 2019: Whilst the Prehistoric Monuments of Dartmoor comments that this alignment is "possible a modern modification of a prehistoric wall system", the row is classed as probable stone row by the Stone Rows of Great Britain: see their recently updated entry for Joan Ford’s Newtake, which includes a description, photographs, two plans of the row (one showing how the row may have originally been much longer), plus access information and links to other online resources for more information.

The Stone Rows of Great Britain's entry also includes a section on 'Landscape Comments' which discusses and illustrates the limited views from this row, apart from facing north east, where a number of features (both archaeological and landscape) become visible.

This row is also recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 443435, and has an entry on the Devon and Dartmoor HER; see MDV6375 (Alignment).

I wondered whether it was part of some ancient settlement or industrial works, of which there are many in this area. As can be seen, there are many other stones around, many of which stand.
