Probably a result of historic destruction attempts and the removal of all smaller stones and the dry walling. Nevertheless a very impressive site. The nearby site D18 is visible in the background. D20 Drouwen submitted by Martin_L on 9th Apr 2010. Overview from the North-West. The 6-capstone passage grave measures approximately 11m x 3,2m. The 16m x 7m enclosure is well-preserved/restored. Some missing kerb-stones are marked by concrete implements. The earthwork is largely removed, the chamber is halfways embedded into the ground. June 2010

The Burren in Co. Clare has scores of holy wells not all of which have stood the test of time. Some are cased in concrete with modern plastic pipes extruding from the casing whilst others have disappeared under the vegetation. This well is probably the most important exception and is stated as being "one of the three most strongly lasting survivals of Lughnasa". This is a shot down the curved passage to the well proper at the end.
