Log Text: getting overgrown with nettles grass etc. dark in summer when the trees are in leaf. the east flanker is cracked and the west flanker in massive. As with other local RSCs the stones and bank include some bright orange/pink granite. in flat rolling landscape no long views.

Log Text: the signposting much better now, but the kissing gates are for skinny folk only! there were no livestock in the field. the site is overgrown with nettles and thistles. its 700m from the nearest car park place yes its been demolished 2x and rebuilt but it has a good feel about it. ok the stones may not all be in exactly the original place but its nice to have a RSC with all the stones upright. on a hilltop so feels a bit like Tomnaverie and Aikey.

Log Text: a typical banked kerbed RSC. now in open (ish) land. felled ex forestry. i suppose it needs renaming to louden ex wood.
there a quite a few loose stones around the bank, i wasn't sure if these were original or had been put there by visitors. a fire had been set behind the recumbent a really stupid thing to do in ex pine forestry which could burn very easily.
a fine site-splendid stones.

Log Text: just recumbent and flankers and a few support stones. in a line of old beech trees just below brow of hill. unfortunately this made it an ideal hideaway campsite fo someone who left bottles of ex vodka, some broken, and general rubbish, plus the remains of a campfire. at least they took their tent with them. nout wrong with wild camping, but you're supposed to leave no trace. some folk just don't have the 'skillset' of carrying an empty can.

Log Text: a long walk uphill 1.5 to 2 hours but worth it. long distance views from the top and very calm inside out of the wind. you can see lots of the vitrification. the small car park is empty at 7am but gets full by about 11. some fools even try and bring massive trailer of bicycles! mind the dog walkers little bags! a popular spot for all types.

Log Text: All very new posh presentation showing through the ages.
If you like a romantic Lord of the rings type view of the Neolithic, with ‘ceremonial’ musical accompaniment you’ll love it. You may go away with the idea that all neolithic people did was stand around chanting and burning things.
If you ever went to the old museum you will miss the coracle, lithophone and swan bone flute.
