Centre right: a moved capstone (now resting on a chamber orthostat and a passage upright). Foreground left: the other capstone collapsed into the chamber. One stone further SW has many drillholes to prepare it for blasting.

The destruction of this monument fortunately was stopped, but half of the kerbstones are missing. Others have drill-holes to blow them to pieces. Most of the remaining kerbstones are fallen. Possible this is a result of activities to remove them and/or prepare them for blasting (April 2008)

Log Text: A museum that displays a large number of artefacts from both the prehistoric and the early and late times of our modern times (especially for the northern German region). Highly recommended for both adults and children! The heart of the prehistoric collection is the "Forum Gesseler Goldhort".
