Park Gate

Park Gate submitted by seaholly on 26th Feb 2015. 10.11.04 sketched diagram of Parkgate Stone Circle, SK281685, Beeley Moor.I got there walking from Rowsley towards Chatsworth down the B6012 turning right at Beeley. Its marked on the OL24 OS Explorer Map 1:25000. Its similar in ambience to Ewden Beck Stone Circle or The Seven Stones of Hordon Stone Circle niether of which is near by foot. However, near by is Hob Hurst's House Barrow SK287692, and the very difficult to find,at least back in 2005, Gibbet Moor North stone circle SK282708.

Log Text: Access from rhiw footpath deliberately blocked by landowner - footpath not accessible because of barbed wire / blocked field entrances/ ‘ no footpath ‘ signs..
Thus visible only from a distance on this route ( there is another path which runs close) - but in many ways this dustant view ver impressive as you rarely see two dolmens/longcairns together

Ffynnon Aelrhiw submitted by Catrinm on 31st Mar 2018. This well (Grade II listed) is now restored with better access with Welsh Gov funding for access projects. On a circular waymarked walk on Rhiw ...efforts to open a ditch to improve drainage seems instead to have made the footpath very boggy !
