Causewayed Enclosure in Derbyshire

This Neolithic enclosure was first discovered in the 1940s when it was known as Meg Walls and is one of the most important sites in the Peak District.

The enclosure is composed of a massive D-shaped stone bank with seven entrances, enclosing an area of 545m north/south by 150m east/west. Excavations were carried out in the 1990s.
