graemefield visited on 30th Jun 2012 - their rating: Cond: 3 Amb: 5 Access: 5 The central cist has now had its earth removed after what looks like more fire damage.
Update November 2019: Information about this now destroyed alignment comes from the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for the Soussons Down.
The SRoGB tells us this was a triple stone row which measured 62m long which was first described in 1898. The row was subsequently destroyed by afforestation in 1946. The cairn at its upper northern end still survives.
The cairn is recorded as Pastscape Monument No. 1234904, as MV6015 (Cairn in the Parish of Manaton) and is scheduled as Historic England List ID 1018790(Round cairn on Soussons Down, 1.2km north west of Soussons).
The row is also featured on the Prehistoric Dartmoor Walks (PDW) website - see their entries for the Soussons Down (Red Barrows) Stone Row and the Soussons Cairn Circle, which adds: "The row was associated with a cairn about 300m north of the four Red Barrow cairn group".
