The small barrow cemetery at Kvitem has just recently been cleared of a very tight fur forest. When I visited in 2008, the forest was so thick, any good picture of the barrows were impossible! Today, only a few birch trees are scattered around the site. The cemetery has also been closed with a small sheep fence. The idea of sheeps grazing and keeping the low vegetation down.
The site consits of a huge round barrow, another smaller but still large round barrow, a large long barrow and 7 smaller round barrows.
The largest round barrow is around 30 metres in dimameter and around 3 metres in height. The other large round barrow is inside a area with higher grass, it is around 20 metres in dimater and around 2 metres in height.
The long barrow is around 20 metres long and around 7 metres wide. The other smaller round barrows were not possible to locate at my visit.
The site is inside a farming field with the terrain slooping to the north. The site also has a very nice view over the inner part of the Børgin Bay.
