Out this week - Stone Circles A Field Guide by Colin Richards and Vicki Cummings, we had 2x copies to give away. Congratulations to our two book winners, drawn totally at random from 120+ entries, Simon Trafford from Hove and Graeme Foster, member ID Foz750, your books are on their way! The answer was of course the inimitable Aubrey Burl, seen below in 2005 at the Rollrights.

Aubrey Burl I'm sure he would have been delighted that Profs Richards and Cummings are following in his footsteps.

Having now gone through and replied to all the competition entries rather than just counting down the list, the overwhelming majority of you got it right as Aubrey Burl, much love and appreciation for the old geezer was sent in and quite a few confident 'of course's so well done most!
We had a few Alexander Thoms, a couple of John Aubreys (understandable mistake), a John Michell and a couple of pedantically correct Harry Aubrey Woodruff Burls (still correct that)

A couple of wags with "hopefully you’re thinking of Aubrey Burl, unless there’s some bad news about Julian Cope I haven’t heard..." (!)

A handful of people congratulated us on our book launch - it's not our book, we're just doing a favour for the publishers and our readers by giving away some copies. And thanks also for all the kind complements about the Portal, it keeps us going.

I'm told the discount code I sent out has expired, I'll try and get an update on Monday.
Cheers, Andy B

I didn’t want to organise a review of this book as it would be impossible to be impartial but if someone would like to send an independent review in please do - so far we have this from Rob Ixer:

[blush - what Rob meant to say there is "Andy Burnham and numerous contributors", I tried to get that correction in but it was too late! - MegP Ed]
