Saturday and Sunday March 19th and 20th 2005

The itinerary, put together by local megarak David Raven, will hopefully be as follows*:

Day One - Saturday 19th March:

The Hangingstones Quarry (rock art), Backstone Beck Enclosure (and attendant rock-art), Haystack Rock (rock-art), the Idol Stone (rock-art), Green Crag slack settlement and rock-art, Woofa Bank settlement and rock-art, the Skirtfuls of stones (cairns), Grubstone circle, and the Horncliffe circle.

Then back via the Twelve Apostles circle, Backstone circle and the Backstone Beck rock-art.

David reckons the walk is less than six miles in total.

Ilkley has good rail links for folks without access to a car.

Day Two - Sunday 20th March:

Start at Ilkley; Barmishaw stone the Swastika stone. Then drive up to Snowden Moor, just north of Otley, to see the Iron-Age settlement, the Tree of Life stone, cup-and-ring marked rocks. If time allows we could nip over the road to see the newly-discovered Askwith Moor settlement, and various cup-marked stones.

*Sometimes factors on the day necessitate last minute changes, so sites listed here may be missed, or substituted with other sites should need dictate.
