Carnac, in Brittany, is a very special place to spend summer solstice, for many of its megalithic monuments are orientated to sunrise or sunset at that period, when the days are the longest. Since 2003, Howard Crowhurst has been organising a yearly event to share this unique experience, planned in the far distant past by an unknown people. The event includes sunrise and sunset observation on different sites, many talks from renowned international speakers and also discovery of the major stone alignments, one of the world's greatest enigmas.
This year the speakers include Professor Robert Temple, author of many books including “The Sirius Mystery” and “Egyptian Dawn”, John Martineau, editor and author of “A Little Book of Coincidence”, Geoff Stray, author and specialist of the Mayan calendar and 2012 theories, Chantal Jègues-Wolkiwiez who has done amazing research on the solstice orientation of ornamented caves including Lascaux, Dr. Scott Olsen, author of “The Golden Section” and “Divine Proportion”, Keith Hunter, author of “The Lost Age of High Knowledge” and Howard Crowhurst, author and researcher on the Carnac megaliths.
The main event runs from sunrise on the June 21st to sunset on June 24th and accomodation is available. Further details are below.
