The Staffordshire Past Track website is an excellent online searchable resource covering the cultural heritage of the Midlands county of Staffordshire. It is driven by a GIS map based system containing thousands of images of Staffordshire's history and prehistory.

Its own introduction states:

"Staffordshire Past Track has been developed with the aim of enhancing access to collections of material that represent the cultural identity and community history of Staffordshire.

Digitisation of materials and the use of the Internet for display, offers a unique opportunity to open up collections (many previously unseen) for universal public access. Staffordshire Past Track has been funded with the help of a £130,000 grant from the New Opportunities Fund - NOF Digitise programme, which has distributed 50m of Lottery funding to a wide range of web based digitisation projects throughout the UK. "

To test it out put "Bridestones" in to the search and you'll get reward with some pre-WWII photos and some old sketches. Using Theme Explore you can hone in on the archaeology and find more images of the county's prehistory.
