Here's an article in Indian Country Today that gives a sense of what is happening with the rock art of the American Southwest. Rock art throughout the U.S. is threatened by widespread lack of respect for the indigenous people and culture.

It shows graffiti covering a petroglyph site called Little Red Rock, about 15 miles outside Las Vegas. The area, a sacred place to people who lived there thousands of years ago, is now popular with partying teens who many suspect are responsible for the damage.

We have the same problem here in S/W Leicestershire, bur hope to have a heritage centre, for our artefacts, but I`m not holding my breath. Arthur, Burbage.
