Stanton Moor submitted by PaulM : The Protestors' camp on Stanton Moor, close to the Nine Ladies Stone Circle, Derbyshire. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Thursday 25th March 10am. Meet at Nine Ladies Protest Camp (Stanton Lees) Join us on a 7 mile ramble to the offices of Stancliffe Stone (the company planning to quarry the site), to demonstrate our opposition to their plans to despoil our natural heritage. Bring good shoes/boots, packed lunch, banners, whistles, drums and your friends. This will be a peaceful and family friendly event.

The protest site is on the road between Stanton-in-the-peak and Stanton Lees.

The proposed solidarity ramble for the campaign to protect 9 Ladies stone circle on the 25th march has been put back until another date yet to be arranged, principally because the public meeting scheduled for Bakewell on the same day has also been postponed. Would those willing to participate
please get in touch anyway, with a view to organising and publicising the event, suggestions for a good date, other ideas etc. We would love to hear from anybody with anything to contribute.

The campaign is looking reasonably positive - Stancliffe Stone are on the back foot at the moment, and have some tricky legal hurdles to clear. We'll keep you posted.

Can we have the next one on a saturday? Or are the quarry offices closed then? It's just that my kids are in school and I'm at work on a Thursday :-(

Lets hope it's a better turn out than at the Bakewell march earlier this year.
Whistles and drums might help. But not as much as big sticks. Yes it's a family friendly event, what? Kids can use smaller sticks.
