The south side of the valley is significantly more fertile, making it habitable and of course the place of choice for growing crops. Easy access across the small stream would have made it convenient to visit one’s ancestors or gods. The entrance to the site is via the Alignment du Moulin, which has one line of fifteen stones on the north side and another line of thirteen stones to the south, running parallel to each other in an east-west direction. Near one of the northern stones, there is a tomb, which dates from a later period. Two solitary stones can be found a couple of hundred meters to the west. Further to the west, one may find the Three Demoiselles. Local legend says three young girls, dancing on a Sunday, were transformed into stones for their sins. This arrangement might have been part of a larger cromlech, but only three stones survive, one fallen leaving some conjecture on the original arrangements. Still further to the west, there is the Chateaux Bu which consists of four large Neolithic menhirs, several smaller ones, re-arranged into a Bronze age burial ground which faces east. There appear to be two major chambers and a couple of smaller add-ons in the rear of this fenced off site. Yet further to the west, visitors will find three mini-tumuli, Dolmen Nord, Sud and Ouest, of which two are un-restored. These date back to 3,000 BCE and one is marginally restored, but was re-used about 2,000 BCE.
At the end of this Necropolis, one will finally encounter Le Tribunal, the remains of a large eastwards opening cromlech of which nine stones survive. There is an “aiming” stone on the open end which also points to the menhirs at Chateaux Bus, 200 meters or so to the east. The entire area has been arranged as a hiking zone but no maps and very few notices have been provided. Due to the hilly nature and the absence of maps, one can only surmise that the five remaining sites are roughly aligned with each other. The sites other than the Alignments du Moulin mostly use quartz stones, which are more resistant to the vagaries of time than the local slate which is abundant and just under the shallow top soil. Due to the different rock formations there and the later Bronze age redevelopment, the Saint-Just site has an entirely different feel to all others in Brittany.
