Channel 4 has ordered a new four part factual series from Granada tracing the history of paganism and how it has affected modern fears and superstitions

Anthropologist and author Richard Rudgley will present the 4 x 60 minute series, Pagans, which is currently in production and will be broadcast this winter.

Granada head of documentaries, history and science Bill Jones said that the programmes would reveal that many of our classic fears are rooted in paganism. 'The show goes on a dark journey into our souls to find out the roots of our superstitions and fears, such as why we are afraid of the dark. The answer lies in pagan beliefs and rituals' he said.

The Pagan Federadion Annual Conference Team is very happy to say that Richard will be one of the main speakers at the forthcoming November conference in Croydon, South London. He will be talking about the early spiritual development of mankind) So if anyone has an opinion on the series they have a chance to mention it to him in person ;-)
Full details and speaker list etc on
www.paganfed.demon.co.uk - follow the star to conference info. Tickets are limited to approx 1500 so get your application in early!

When I first heard about this it was as the last few seconds of the trailer for it which mentioned "bizarre sexual practices". I instantly had that sinking feeling and started to think about strategy to defend my spirituality ......... again. Having read the above though I am somewaht encouraged, this may be a worthwhile and interesting series, I am now looking forward to it!

Yup, I'm looking forward to both. Our online shop will be going 'offline' for one day only with a stand on the ground floor selling our wares. See you there if you're going to the conference, should be good.

That is good news! I've read all Rudgley's books and watched all his television. Guess I'll have to rejoin the Pagan Fed now!
