The BBC (who have a picture of the damage) reports that a spokesman for the group said they had become frustrated at a lack of action in getting the pro-hunting message across.
The defacement of the world’s most famous Bronze Age white horse at Uffington in Oxfordshire and the White Horse at Kilburn (North Yorkshire - dating to 1837) involved adding a rider in full hunting gear to the latter and a rider and three white hounds to the former.
The White Horse Association has managed to successfully to remove the daubings.
The Countryside Alliance has disassociated itself from the actions, adding that it "regretted" any damage which may have been caused. Interestingly no mention of this episode can be found on the Countryside Alliance’s website although the CA denounced the RCA in a press release in May.
