Mexico is often overlooked as having any real 'megalithic' sites, so Megalithomania and World Explorers Club plan to investigate the Olmec sites and several other pre-mayan sites in March 2013. Join David Hatcher Childress and Hugh Newman for a comprehensive trip through the Pre-Mayan world of Mexico, visiting all the major Olmec sites, plus Teotihuacan, Tula, Cholula, Cuilcuilco and ending in the beautiful jungle location of Palenque.

David and Hugh have both travelled extensively in Mexico and have a unique view on the sites that exist there.

March 8th - 20th 2013

Blimey, £3350 for an "alternative" view of ancient Mexican culture, no thanks! Last time I went there it cost me about a grand and I visited 12 Mayan sites, plus chill out time on the beach.

    Whew! I hadn't seen the price (couldn't get the link to work.) That's outrageous for a land-only!
    The Archaeological Conservancy have similar coverage for $2,945 this March. The tours will overlap. Maybe the archaeologists and Megalthmania can duke it out in La Venta for an added attraction.

    And you have to pay for your flight as well! I occasionally check out the London-Cancun flight prices just in case there are any cheap ones available. I was very lucky in 2009 to get a £250 return flight.

    No the price is £2300, not £3350! That price is incorrect, its £2300 for the main tour. Not sure where you got than number from! We are working on reducing the price slightly too. Our tour is also two days longer than the 'Archaeological Conservancy' tour and includes an internal flight, and access to many more Olmec sites, some of which most tours do not go to.

Seen previously at Megalithic Portal: Link to information on Hugh Newman's talk last year on the Olmecs - Mysteries of the Ancient Olmecs, talk by Hugh Newman, Apr 14th, London.

And from wikipedia: David Hatcher Childress established Adventures Unlimited Press publishing company, presenting theories regarding ancient civilizations, cryptozoology, and little-known technologies. Childress is the founder of the World Explorers Club.
"... American author and publisher of books on topics on alternative history and historical revisionism. His works cover such subjects as pre-Columbian trans-oceanic contact, Atlantis, Lemuria, Ancient Astronauts, UFOs, Nikola Tesla, the Knights Templar, lost cities and vimana aircraft."
