Giant Roman Numeral found in India India

Country: India Geologists have discovered a striking archaeological feature on a hillock in the Kutch district of the western Indian state of Gujarat. This feature is shaped like the Roman numeral VI. Each arm of this feature is a trench that is about two metres wide, two metres deep and more than 100 metres long.

The feature has evoked the curiosity of archaeologists because such signs have mostly been observed so far in Peru.

The team, led by Dr RV Karanth, a former professor of geology at the Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara, Gujarat, has been involved in a palaeoseismological study of the Kutch region for the past 11 years.

Palaeoseismology involves the study of sediments, landforms and other geological evidence of past earthquakes to unravel their history and determine the nature and occurrence of present-day earthquakes.

This feature was discovered at a hillock 3km from the sleepy oasis township of Khavda, which is also known as the gateway to the Rann of Kutch, an extensive salt marsh of western India and southeast Pakistan between the Gulf of Kutch and the Indus river delta.

Man-made feature?

The Kutch region is host to several archaeological findings belonging to the Harappan civilisation (3000-1500 BC).

This has led to the speculation that this feature could be related to the Harappan civilisation.

Dr Karanth clarifies that it is too early to arrive at any conclusion.

"It could be a manmade feature or may have been formed naturally due to erosion of the hill slope along a fracture formed by the movement of earth's crust," he says.

"However structures formed naturally due to erosion generally tend to be parallel to each other. But here, all three arms are in different directions. Besides, all the ditches are almost uniformly wide and deep."

Dear friends of Kutch, Geo-Archaeology, Science, Astronomy and History,

As Dr RV Karanth, explained in the bottom of the email and he is in favour of these man made structures. as below, we wrote last year about some strange circles in the Khatrod range - Gangeshwar dome area. so we made an Geoarchaeological expedition tour in the area in August this year. We found those were the man made lines as we expected. lines are having a typical shapes as in the mounts Andes region of Peru they are known as NAZKA lines- Structures. the setellite view is below and original picture will be send on request mail reply.

Dear friends of Science and Geo-Archaeology,

    sir,

I would have been happy if you would have shown the snaps of both the VI and the so called Nazca Lines in your Gujrat. There are no doubts about the fact this surely indicates to the existence of a secret civlisation spread all over India which was certainly pre Dravidian and Aryan perhaps of the Mundaric tribals or even a race prior to these pre Proto Austroloid tribals.

On the contrary, there would seem to be nothing but doubts, given the total lack of information provided in the links. The BBC news item photo clearly shows manmade features, but without dating & other archaeological evidence all interpretations are pure speculation & consequent comparisons with other sites on the other side of the world are wild fantasy.

Megalithic Samadhies of ZURA KOTADI area North of BHUJ –KUTCH and JANGADIYA Many of questions have been raised for the place of Megalithic Samadhies of ZURA KOTADI area North of BHUJ –KUTCH and JANGADIYA as the area has remained still unexplored. Both places has different characteristics, In old time last respect to body was not ONLY by cremations but also methods called SAMADHIes as well. We have closely inspected both varieties with an expert Mahant shree who does these type of ceremonials of samadhies at present time as well. As per his opinion those are regular SAMADHIES in sitting posture (As we explain in YOGA as PADMASHANA) and other type is where body is laid down in supine (flat) posture. But JANGADIYA has special characteristic of the supine posture Samadhies. As the SAMADHI is Shaped as body shape and that’s the most different type of characteristic of such SAMADHIes. Most have not visited such places and so raised questions. But it self is suggestive that WORD JANGADIYA / JANGADIA is saying that JAN (person) GADIYA (Burried) / JAN (person) GADIA (Burried) While examining the place all aspect of the place is to be undisturbed so as to without tempering any places. But weather does its job of its own. Rain and wind do expose upper part of the area and so area is exposed from top only. So in case of sitting postures the part exposed first is Cranium – upper part of head. And in case of supine postures is more likely from toes parts of legs. According to Mahant shree who practice Samadhi ceremonials, if Samadhi is given in sitting posture a lamp (KODIYU) is placed behind the head region and body is covered with sand and SALT. A part of Samadhi area is open on east side as a tradition, suggestive those people worshiped sun at that time. We examined weather exposed area of Samadhies and we found some of potteries of ancient time in two colours, Red as usual and Black as well. But along with the curved black potteries there are some gray artefacts. But that was lighter than the clay potteries. Those were actual bone parts discoloured by salt and weathering effects. And is also more confusing in sitting posture as its shape similarity with curved cranial bones and similar shape and coloured pottery parts. But an expert eye can differentiate as bone parts are lighter and cranial bone has specific groves in side the curve bones. That’s the specific feature of internal cranial anatomical features. In one of such specimen such groves of internal cranial bone veins are clearly visible in temporal bone. That’s is clearly suggestive of all procedures in the ancient time and dating can be done by many methods, Carbon dating may prove inconclusive as may be carbon contamination is more common. But Bone DNA are very specific to Identify the Human nature, Type of populations and timing of the ceremonials by the process of DNA haplography study. In the attached picture all features explained are clearly visible in pictures and cranial bone groves for internal cranial veins are also visible. And discolouration is also remarkable to see the matching with potteries of some artefacts used at the time. Generally all megalithic structure may be covered from top or may remained open depending on the type of culture / traditions used for the ceremonials. You may be right. I had also given the explanation that tectonic activity could be a reason. However, there appears to be some human intervention. The tectonic fractures are somewhat oblique to these channels. Could this be a sort of sign to attract the attention from a distance? The ancient constructions above this hill are now destroyed. One arm of this structure (middle one) is also destroyed for taking out stone blocks. -RV Karanth Thu, 24/9/09,

Dear Dr karanth saab, and MS GADHAVI Thank you for forwarding the Long Lati of "V I" Sign at the Place Raimalro Hill@ Khavda some calculative measurements and interpretation is attache, please correct if any errors.

Yours dr Bhudia Do visit our ABOVE Clubs/Groups of Science Groups of India.

"V I" Sign seen @ 23.857380 N 69.757579 E on the Paccham Raimalro Hill near khavda 3km as shown on the map.
The sign Geo-trigonometric interpretation measured by satellite readings is as follows.

All lines in the Sign has direction away from the North Pole and line AB 780' makes angle of about 30NE, where angle B is about 45 and line DE is not parallel to any other lines. Measurement line AB = 780 feet,

line BC is 750 feet and AC is 600 feet apart, line DE is 730 feet Height A=335feet, B & E=215 feet, C=350 feet and D = 337feet from sea level

Height difference B to A is 335-215=120 height of the hill at distance 780 feet of B to A. This makes inclination of height of the hill at B to A = sign Θ = 120/780 =0.15 where anti sign shows angle of 8.9 ONLY

But we can not ignore a "Nenu Ni DHAR" civilisation near Khavada 1.5km @ 23.51N - 69.44E. Which make no relations to angle of Earth axis nor to direction to pole or pole star in the sky. Which makes me to think that it has not any geometric or astronomical relations but may be some tectonic marks of previous tectonic activity at the place?

yes partially I do agree with you , as all starts with some king of speculations and search with scientific evidences and even though research may end in to the conflict and TUNDE TUNDE MATI: BHINHA:
But researchers always steps forward with all possible efforts and evidences.

This is really intersting to find megaliths of 100 mtrs diameter, what is it a Stone Circle or what ? You shouild clarify with snaps.

But I never knew that Nazaca had megaliths.

However it is also interesting to note that the name "Jangadiya' for a village which is austric. The name has been derived from two terms of 'Jan' meaning bones and 'gadiya' is suggestive of a burial. Simply meaning 'the burying of bones' which is indicative of megaliths.

Tribalism, her languages and megaliths hide perhaps most of the secrets of our unknown and enigmatic past.
