Coetan Arthur Dolmen
Coetan Arthur Dolmen submitted by Johnny : Coetan Arthur, St. David's Head, Dyfed (SM725 281): Impressively situated on the hillside close to St. David's Head, Coetan Arthur is the collapsed chamber of what is presumed to be a passage grave which also has a round barrow. The massive capstone measures approximately 5.9 meters by 2.6 meters and is supported on one side by an orthostat approximately 1.5 meters in height. (Vote or comment on this photo)

This is a video I want to watch again because it covers such a vast time period: it works both as 'informed' entertainment and as something you can read into further, if you wish.

This is a very clearly filmed video, entertaining, and containing some nice shots of Avebury megaliths (my reason for shelling out!)

However, the narrator seemed to think that the West Kennet Avenue led to West Kennet Long Barrow - as opposed to the vanished circle of stones, we know today as the Sanctuary, on Overton Hill.

What I personally find fascinating about Welsh mythology and myth is that it once ranged the length and breadth of what was later to become known as England, and -

"the ghost / that in the echo lives..."

returns to chide us, issuing as if from some restless Banquo-troupe, in geographical voices from the past, such as the River Avon, where 'arfon' is the Welsh word for 'river'.

I recommend the video for sheer entertainment value alone, and excellent visual quality. It is a shame there is not a book to accompany the tape, since there are many references to legends and manuscripts which are difficult to identify, from the soundtrack, alone.

Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this video!
