Description
Reconstructed palisade wall (shown on the inside), with bastions and covered in daub, at the Angel Mounds site in Evanston, Indiana. These were very sturdy walls and some were 12-15 feet high and resistant to fire. Hundreds of mound sites and villages were protected this way.
