Ty Elltud is situated in a commanding position looking over the Usk valley towards Pen-y-van, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons, and up the valley towards Mynned Illtud. St.illtud was possibly the cousin of King Arthur, Sir Galahad and founder of Wales's first scholastic monastery at Llantwit Major.
