Angel Mounds

From left to right:
The rise of the original stockade wall site and Mound L in midground. A properly sized framework of a replica "summer house" is beyond the rise of the mound.
Mound B has never been excavated. It is large and low and may be nothing more than spoil or a midden.
The Mound A pyramid with its conical earthwork is to the right of the tree in the foreground. Beyond it would have been the plaza, with the temple mound, Mound F, still farther beyond and too far in the distance to see in this view.
To the right of the small wood is Mound E.
On the extreme right is the reconstruction of the stockade wall in the foreground, with the slight rise of the path of that wall stretching into the wooded area.
This entire visible area would have been enclosed by the stockade as it ran from the river to the viewer's left, directly behind the viewer, and then to the right, and then curving back to the left toward the river, the wall ending in roughly the middle of this view, beyond the trees on the far horizon..
