Description
Perron menhir, Passais, Orne.
At least 3 metres high, this menhir is found signposted about 30 metres from the road in a private garden, although access to the stone is allowed up a driveway.

We own the property where Le Menhir du Perron is situated. Yes, it is surrounded by a private garden, but the Menhir is very close to the drive. The two stones "lying down" referred to were placed there by the family of the original French farmers, the Ruault family. This was very many years ago. They were not designed to be a "garden feature." There was no garden there then. This was a working farm. It is all at the side of the orchard. In the garden area there is a flat stone which is thought to be associated with the Menhir. The rays of the sun hitting the Menhir would have cast a shadow on the flatter stone at different positions and times in the year. This was thought to have measured the seasons. It was a theory put forward. Hope this helps.

This menhir is not Perron menhir. It is the menhir at Le Perron, Passais la Conception.
