Nab Ridge
Nab Ridge submitted by Bladup : Nab Ridge (Bridestones kerb cairn). (Vote or comment on this photo)
Yet another site called the Bridestones. This one is reached after along climb up the rigg but the view is worth it. The OS Map shows 'Cairn' and 'Bride Stones' at these coordinates.

There is what appears to have been a cairn-circle at this site. Many of the kerb-stones are still in place, although there is only a hint of circle stones having stood here. The tallest stone is 3-feet and located at the uphill end of the circle, in the N. The longer axis runs N-S. Much of the NW arc of the kerb-stones is missing. There is a modern cairn just to the N of the circle.

Nab Ridge submitted by Antonine : The Bilsdale/Tripsdale Bride Stones are named after the Goddess ‘Brigantia’. It was once thought to be a Druid Temple, and identified as a stone circle, but is in fact the remains of a kerbed cairn. Photo taken in 2011 (2 comments - Vote or comment on this photo)

Bronze Age round barrow, formerly identified as a stone circle by Andy B on Friday, 21 July 2017
(User Info | Send a Message)
Pastscape says: Bronze Age round barrow, formerly identified as a stone circle. More likely to be a mutilated tumulus. Elgee noted (after he had published his Early Man in NE Yorkshire in 1930 where he described it as a stone circle) that it resembled
the kerb of a barrow.
