Harestone Down submitted by Bladup : The Supposed fallen Cove to the South West of the Supposed Circle. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Supposed circle on Harestone Down near East Kennett, with supposed fallen Cove to the South West. There are stones and a platform, that's for sure.

Harestone Down submitted by AngieLake : The map for that area in 'The Oldest Road An exploration of The Ridgeway' [see first pic of circle for more detail of author, photograher and publisher.] Thorn Hill is very close to Harestone Down and approx SW of East Kennet Long Barrow. The book was first published in 1975.

Harestone Down
Harestone Down submitted by AngieLake : "Small stone circle at Thorn Hill" is how this old print was described in 'The Oldest Road An Exploration of The Ridgeway' by J. R. L. Anderson and Fay Godwin. [1975, reprinted 1979. Wildwood House Ltd.] I cannot find the circle mentioned in the text of this lovely old book bought yesterday in Totnes Oxfam. However, Thorn Hill is close to Harestone Down, and our site page grid ref for that site...
