Sutton Down long barrow

Long Barrow in Wiltshire

Located in a field on Sutton Down with views to the east and west along the scarp edge of the White Sheet Hill ridge. The barrow looks as if it has been reduced in size and rounded by ploughing. The area is now pasture land and the barrow has a few bushes growing on it.

On Environment Agency lidar (grey icon next to CamRA) the site lies 75 m to the east of the posted marker. No signs of a longer structure 'fading off' at either end because of ploughing
