Stone Circle in Scottish Borders. This 7m diameter circle has 2 tall stones in the south and south-west with a small stone between them. The other stones are smaller and may have been broken to stumps.

The OS map is Landranger 79. It can be trecherous in bad weather, very slippery up the incline, but stick to the fence with the forest as shown on the map. There are signs, but these can be easily missed. The circle is found by crossing over a style and walking up the 'avenue' cut between the forest. In a clearing to the left the circle is found. The 2 highest stones can be seen just above the ferns, bullrushes etc. Watch out for hidden water courses ditch etc.- I stood in one whilst taking photo's, found my boots literally filling up with water ! The view before the Forestry Commision came along would have been quite something. If you get chance visit Hermitage Castle nearby. According to local folklore the two are linked.
