Cairn in Perth and Kinross

This now destroyed barrow is recorded as Canmore ID 51067 which tells us this was: "A tumulus, known as the 'Fairyknowe' to the east of Annacroich was opened in the late 18th century and a stone cist, containing bones and burnt wood, was found (1792)." The most recent visit report is from 1965 and records: "Fairy Knowe has been levelled by the plough and is at present under crop: it shows no signs of antiquity."

The Northern Antiquarian (TNA) also features an entry for this site - see their page for Fairy Knowe, Gairneybank, Kinross, Kinross-shire which has an image of the 1856 OS map showing the old tumulus and a brief archaeology & history.
