Llech Llia Recumbent Monolith
Llech Llia Recumbent Monolith submitted by cerrig : The recumbent, looking West, along the direction of the triangle centre line. The outcrop on the horizon is a good candidate for the source for Maen Llia. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Possible standing stone in Powys

This stone, which may be a toppled Menhir or a recumbent, is a new find (2010). It lies on the verge of the road, next to a fence. The reason for it's inclusion as an ancient site is due to it's position within the landscape.
It was realised, by RCAHMW field workers over 40 years ago, that there was a geometric relationship between Maen Llia standing stone and the other nearby monuments . Along with a double banked henge and a ring cairn, they formed an Isosceles triangle, with a "working platform" contained inside the triangle, and sited on the centre line.
This "new" stone would seem to confirm this relationship, as it is sited on the base line of the triangle, where the centre line crosses it.
If this is a genuine site, and no proper thorough official investigation has as yet taken place, it would add a very interesting site to the "geometry" debate.

The stone has been initially assessed by the RCAHMW, and added to their database: Read More at Coflein.
