Stone Circle in Perthshire. There is doubt that this was a stone circle. It was destroyed about 100 years ago when stones were supposedly removed and all that remains is a roughly round hillock. By local repute this mound is said to be the site of Callander's original church.
In Gaelic ‘Tom na Chessaig’ means 'the Hill of Kessog’. It is named after St Kessog, a disciple of Columba of Iona, who preached and taught in this area in the sixth century AD.
