Craigneich Stones
Craigneich Stones submitted by SandyG : Stone A. This substantial stone does not form part of the alignment but is likely to have originally formed an integral part of this significant ritual landscape. (Vote or comment on this photo)
Standing Stones in Perthshire. These stones are believed to mark the graves or commemorate the death of Roman soldiers who fell in a battle fought here between the Romans and the Caledonians. The OS map shows quite a number scattering the hillside.

Although claimed to be of Roman origin these stones are no different from the majority of standing stones.

There are separate site pages for some of the stones, with more details. See:
Stone C SID 47281 Dunruchan C
Stone D SID 47282 Dunruchan D and
Stone E SID 47283 Dunruchan E.

Update October 2019: This stone row and associated stones are featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for the Dunruchan Stones. The SRoGB describes this site as: "A probable single stone row perhaps measuring up to 1174m long and including up to seven large orthostats situated on a north facing slope. Five of the stones are upright and two maybe buried below small mounds … there are cairns and at least one other standing stone in the vicinity".

The SRoGB includes a map of the area which shows the location of each of the stones and standing stones in this row, photographs of the alignment, the individual stones and other standing stones and mounds in the area, access information and a list of online resources for more information.

The SRoGB also includes a detailed discussion about the interpretation of this row and its visual links, adding: "There is almost certainly at least one stone row at Dunruchan. The uncertainty relates to whether there were two conjoined rows, one relatively short row or one very long row".

The SRoGB also lists a number of scheduling records for this row. See Historic Environment Scotland
