Craig-y-Dinas W
Craig-y-Dinas W submitted by w650marion : We walked down from the higher slopes of Moelfre to this very large cairn (5 foot human included to demonstrate cairn size). Long ago, it must have been taller, but as with many cairns, it has been altered since the bronze age. It is the largest and most distinctive cain in the Llanddwywe-is-y-graig Tumulus Cemetery The large cairns topping Moelfre and Mynydd Egryn are visible from here. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Between the track and the big cairn are many clearly visible cairns, you can’t miss them! Latest thinking is that “Extensive cairnfield c.169mx173m (mapped) which can be traced for some 530m N/S. Likely Prehist. origins mixed with U med clearance.”(Coflein)

GAT says “About 60 cairns are contained within an area 200m x 500m. All are turf-grown stone piles. Approximately one third of them having been disturbed, though none appear to be robbed of cairn material. Sizes vary between 2.7m and 14m but most fall within the 4m to 8m range”
