Brae Farm Central Cairn is one of a group of 3 cairns on Brae Farm, c. 5 miles NNW of Port William in Dumfries and Galloway. The Central cairn is located in pasture c. 170 yards S of the B7005 and 30 yards W of Brae Farm road.

Brae Farm Central Cairn is constructed on a natural rocky knoll according to Canmore ID 62900. The round mound measures c. 50 feet in diameter and 2 feet high. The grassy surface is pock-marked with small clusters of exposed stones.

Brae Farm NE Cairn is located c. 200 yards NE and Brae Farm SW Cairn is located c. 100 yards S of Brae Farm Central Cairn (go to Nearby Site Listing).

Directions to Brae Farm SW: Take the A747 Port William turn off the A75 at Glenluce. Stay on the A747 for c. 6.6 miles to an unsigned left turn onto the B7005 at NX 27136 49953. Travel on the B7005 for c. 1.7 miles to a parking spot on the right at NX 2954 5092. Walk E for c. 0.2 mile to reach a farm track to Corwall Farm on your right. Follow the track south for 0.1 miles. Head east along a dry stane dyke for c. 275 yards to reach Brae Farm SW Cairn. Brae Farm Central Cairn is located c. 100 yards to the north. My route can be viewed on Brae Farm Cairns.

EDS Sorry for making work for you. Two pictures on this page are correct: "Cluster of Exposed Stones in Centre of Brae Farm Central Cairn" and "Centre of Brae Farm Central Cairn viewed from N". The other four pictures are Brae Farm SW Cairn general view from N,E,S and W. Could you please move these pictures? Thanks Mark
