Holy Well or Sacred Spring in Dumfries and Galloway

Is anyone able to confirm whether or not this well exists, please?

Canmore classifies this as a 'holy well', although details are very vague - see their entry for Site ID 60318 'Culdees' Well, Knockaldie'.

Their only source is Agnew's 1893 publication: "The Hereditary Sherrifs of Galloway", 2nd edition, Volume 1, page 413, which says: "There is the Culdees' Well at Knockaldy (Knockaldie)".

There is a well, but not a named well, shown on the 1894 OS maps at Knockaldy (both 6 inch and 25 inch), and I've been unable to find any further information about this site. Are you able to help, please? Thank you.
