A small burn will need to be crossed. Follow the well marked footpath entering the field containing the Dunamuck, South stone pair and then walk north west alongside the field boundary. A farm track should then be taken to NR 84580 92595. At this point turn right and head towards the standing stone visible some 350m to the north east.

Dunamuck North
Dunamuck North submitted by Creative Commons : Only the northerly stone still stands (August 2011). The May 1983 entry in the "Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland" reports that only the middle stone had fallen by then. Only the northerly stone still stands, though the southerly stone still stood according to a report dated May 1983.

Looking along the line of the one remaining upright stone towards the two stones at Dunamuck (S).

These stones are recorded as Canmore ID 39584 which adds the stones are located north west and north east of Dunamuck on level ground on the west side of the River Add. The most northerly stone sood 2.63 metres in height, the fallen (central stone) 3.75 metres tall and the third stone almost 3 metres tall. Their alignment is roughly north-north-west by south-south-east with the stones standing 4.4 metres apart.

Update October 2019: This alignment is featured on the Stone Rows of Great Britain website - see their entry for Dunamuck, North, which includes a description, a plan of the row from a recent survey carried out in March 2017, photographs of the alignment and the individual stones, access information and links to other online resources for more information.

The row is also recorded as WoSAS (West of Scotland Archaeology Service) Site ID 4174 (Dunamuck North Standing Stones) and scheduled as Historic Environment Scotland; see SM199 (Dunamuck, one fallen and two standing stones).

The SRoGB also describes and illustrates how the row is visually associated with the nearby Dunamuck, South stone pair (see 'nearby sites' below).

Dunamuck North
Dunamuck North submitted by crannog : Well worth the walk over the fields to this site (even when its been pouring and the ground is all squidgy-mushy). Interesting area with the seemingly stone alignments, cairn and hillfort all within a short distance of eachother. (Vote or comment on this photo)

Dunamuck North
Dunamuck North submitted by SandyG : Looking SSE along the row (Scale 1m). The stone row is aligned on the Dunamuck, South stone pair. This strongly suggests that the two sites were broadly contemporary and probably linked in some way. The visual link is obvious but almost certainly implies far more than we will ever know.

Dunamuck North submitted by SolarMegalith : According to the report from 1983 two stones were still standing and only one was fallen - looks like another one has fallen fairly recently (photo taken on April 2013).
