This stone was apparently re-erected in the early eighties. It is about 11 foot and very chunky. Easily visible from the A3071 St Just - Penzance road, the stone is set in a low hedge at Wheal Buller Farm on the B3318 Pendeen road.

Not re-erected because it wasn't proven that it had ever stood, eg - no stone hole was found. A big stone was found and was presumed to have once been a standing stone [It may or may not have been] and erected.

This menhir was found on its side in a ditch when we built a stone wall along the track leading to Wheal Buller, which we owned between 1989 & 1999, in 1989 and reerected on site by a local builder for us. Good to see it on your site.Steve & Judi Sawyer

    Hello Steve and Judi.

Palden here, from Botrea Farm. I'm wondering whether you're able to give a map ref for the place where you found the stone - or perhaps I can visit you to chat about it?

    Best wishes, Palden.
