1. Sexy Beasts We may believe that our lives today are shaped by 2,000 years of Roman and Christian tradition. But in this new series anthropologist Richard Rudgley argues that our pagan past is very much a part of who we are today.

I've just seen the first part of this series on Australian TV. What a pity that our national broadcaster spent good money on this load of tabloid rubbish.

I'm in Australia, and just watched part 2.
Maybe I have lower expectations, or maybe it is simply that I am happy that a documentary has actually been made at all on this subject matter, but I enjoyed it.

My comment on this series is as follows. I sat down to watch a couple of the programmes, yet despite the reasonable time that they were on, I never saw to the end - I was always fast asleep by half way. This must say something.

Exactly the same here. I really wanted to watch them, but nodded off during each episode, only to see the closing credits!

I agree. His other progammes were really good, but this was disappointing.

I only managed to see half the shows and while I enjoyed what I saw, it wasn't as good as it could have been.

I found the show "bitty" with no real cohesion. At times it seemed like the pictures dictated the content. So nice shots of modern towns and then a cut to some picturesque landscape; but the actual content came in as second best.

Good try but must do better.
