This church building has been sold to a house-builder in Newmachar who has obtained planning permission to turn it into a dwelling. One of the conditions to be satisfied is that the vestibule must have glass doors so this stone can be viewed from outside.

The old church at Kinellar houses a Pictish Stone which was originally found in the churchyard in 1801. The church is now up for sale and future of access to see the stone which was built into the vetibule of the church must now be in doubt.
